At COLPAI, we follow the National Curriculum guidelines for Science for each year group. Wherever possible, teachers make meaningful cross-curricular links with classroom topics so that children make connections in their learning and benefit from using and applying scientific skills in a wide range of contexts. The main areas of teaching include life and living processes; materials and their properties; and physical processes. Certain topics taught in Key Stage One are revisited during Key Stage Two, thus allowing the children to build on their prior knowledge and study topics at a greater depth. COLPAI’s teachers are committed to creating experiential learning opportunities for their pupils, bringing the Science curriculum to life and setting it in context.
