The opportunity to learn a modern foreign language is an important part of the COLPAI curriculum offer. We believe it fosters pupils’ curiosity and deepens their understanding of the world and appreciation of different cultures. We aim for pupils to be able to express their ideas and thoughts, both orally and in writing, in a new language, providing the foundations for further language study.
Our French Teacher Monsieur James, is a highly experienced and immensely skilled Languages teacher. He delivers a weekly session to every KS2 child in the school. Thanks to his dedication and expertise, COLPAI is proudly able to offer French lessons to all children from Year 3 onwards, building a firm foundation and far surpassing the statutory requirement for Modern Foreign Languages lessons in Key Stage Two. COLPAI children regularly sing and read in accent-perfect French as part of our regular concerts and other performances.
