Our aim is to eliminate the achievement gap and improve life chances of local children. We endeavour to ensure all children make the optimum progress to achieve their full potential and as such there is a strong commitment to reducing barriers to learning for all pupils. We set aspirational pupil targets and through the careful tracking of pupil assessment data, use of ongoing teacher assessment and close partnership working with parents, we monitor the trajectory of pupil progress towards their targets. In this way we identify and address any underachievement through precision teaching. With a strong commitment to inclusion, we work closely with children, families, and multi-agencies to support vulnerable learners to ensure that we meet their special educational needs. The inclusion team at COLPAI draws upon specialist agencies to support provision for SEND including:

  • The Islington Early Years Inclusion Team
  • Richard Cloudesley Outreach Service (physical and sensory impairments)
  • Samuel Rhodes Outreach service (pupils with moderate learning difficulties)
  • Educational Psychology Service
  • Behaviour Support Service
  • CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service)
  • The Bridge School Outreach service for pupils with Autistic Spectrum Disorder
  • Primary Pupil Referral Outreach Team for pupils with ‘Challenging Behaviour’
  • Speech and Language Service (SALT)
  • Families First
  • Paediatricians
  • Children’s Social Care (Social Services)
