Head's Welcome

I am delighted to welcome local children and families to the City of London Primary Academy Islington; a vibrant and exciting, new school located in the EC1 area of south Islington.

As a fully inclusive school, our aim is to provide a world-class education for every child including pupils with special educational needs. Our talented and dedicated team is committed to closing the attainment gap so that the achievement of every child compares favourably with the best in the country.

We have the highest expectations of ourselves as a school and of our pupils’ achievement, effort, attitude, and behaviour. Good home-school links enhance children’s learning, therefore we actively engage parents as partners in their child’s education to realise the highest possible goals and aspirations. We strive for excellence in all that we do, to inspire a passion for learning within a happy, safe and caring environment where everyone is valued and respected.

The location of our academy offers one of the richest arts and cultural environments a school could wish for - art galleries, museums, theatres and music venues are on our doorstep. We believe the arts subjects and our cultural heritage enrich learning and for this reason offer a broad and balanced curriculum with an extra-curricular offer as part of an ‘extended’ school day.

Our school is part of the family of highly successful City of London schools and is directly linked and supported by the City of London School for Girls, an ISI Outstanding rated independent school. Like all City of London schools, our new academy benefits from the City’s strong links with business and commerce, including the opportunity to work with business mentors.

Children get only one chance with their education. It has far-reaching implications for their future success, and at the City of London Primary Academy Islington, we are creatively ambitious for every child to be the best they can be. It is a privilege to be Headteacher of this brand new school to serve the local community. As a small but growing school, with a dedicated staff team, we offer a strong ethos of care, guidance and personalised support.
